I'm a teacher, writing coach, former columnist and textbook author. I've won a national teaching award, a small piece of a Pulitzer Prize awarded to the San Jose Mercury News city desk staff for its coverage of the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989, and my share of poker hands. Though I'm currently a professor at Emerson College in Boston, all views expressed here are mine and mine alone.
If you'd like to share a thought or argue a point, I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I've decided to consolidate all future posts (as well as everything I wrote for True/Slant) at jerrylanson.wordpress.com. Today (Aug. 28), I'm re-establishing NewsPrints at that site and will post at least twice weekly.
I'm now blogging regularly at Trueslant.com, a hub of lively blogs written by journalists, professors and writers representing a variety of professions. You can find my blog by going to the site and clicking on "contributors."
